Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir: #Wine

by Susan P. Cooper · on Jan 25, 2015 · 6

Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir, findingourwaynow.comI love it when I’m introduced to a new wine such as this Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir Carneros 12. With all the different wineries that abound, it’s really hard to know them all. Regardless, it’s always fun when I find a great wine through another wine loving friend.

Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir

AgAcacia Vineyard Pinot Noir, findingourwaynow.comain, this is a Northern California wine. Acacia Vineyard, established in 1979, is located in the Napa Valley. From the very beginning, Acacia Vineyards quickly established itself as one of the first California wineries to offer vineyard-designated Pinot Noir wines. What that means is it’s a wine that is produced from the product of a single vineyard with that vineyard’s name appearing on the wine label.

The Carneros wine region or AVA (American Viticultural Areas) is located on the southern edge of Napa Valley. This area with its gentle rolling hills has its own characteristic beauty. In the morning, fog will roll over the hills and settle in hollows. If that isn’t enough, add that to a clear evening, one can clearly see San Francisco sparkle in the distance.

Research of this region has revealed that Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are different from those produced in other California wine regions. This fact along with the area’s charm has aided in putting the Carneros wine growing region on the map. With the winemakers skill and dedication to the winemaking craft, this has resulted in Acacia Vineyard setting themselves apart from others with the same varietals offering a distinctive flavor unique to their vineyard.

This is what the winemaker has to say about their Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir Carneros 12:

Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir, findingourwaynow.com“Our 2012 Carneros Pinot Noir will seduce you with lusciously ripe flavors and the texture of fine silk. 2012 was a winemaker’s dream that gave our Pinot Noir generous aromas of Bing cherry and Burgundy plum, layered with teaberry, cinnamon and vanilla nuances. Winemaker Matthew Glynn often speaks of the wine’s “emotional perfume” which, for him, brings memories of the wood of a seasoned violin. Fully ripened tannins structure the harmonious flavors, while toasted new barrels scent the finish with warm spice.”

You can find this Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir on their website, wine.com, bevmo.com, totalwine.com and many wine shops or wine purveyors.

With a bottle of this delightful pinot noir, my friend and I had a great evening reminiscing about the holidays, the past year and what our plans are for the coming year. It was a delightful time made all the more fun with this wine. If you enjoy a good Pinot Noir then this Acacia Vineyard Pinot Noir Carneros 12 or any of their Pinot Noirs for that matter, are a very nice choice. Enjoy.

Time for a glass…
