It all started with a casual conversation about where we each lived. That was when I found out that Bethany Lee lived in the same area as my stepdaughter. How cool was that? So our bloggers meet-up plan was discussed. We had talked about this for a while. Then we started making plans to meet in person when I visited that area. That time finally happened last weekend. I made plans a trip back to visit Bethany for a few days, and, of course my our family.
Bloggers Meet-Up
I was so excited. The day had arrived, and I was to meet Bethany in our hotel lobby and begin our adventure. We started with a Google Hangout with a couple of other blogger friends, Dan Meyers from Breakfree.me and Cheryl Therrien from Grandmother Diaries. We had a great time catching up. Everyone committed to another meet-up again in October with a plan to talk about how we each would work on producing an eBook.
Bethany and I just clicked. As she said in her post, it was if we had known each other forever. I guess that’s what blogging does. You get to know the person by what, and how they write as well as what they share. When we meet in person, everything just flowed as does our friendship online. It was so cool!
We had lunch at a great Thai Restaurant. It was one of her favorites and it turned out to be a place my stepdaughter knew and enjoyed.
Right across the street was an antique shop that had all manner of stuff, from retro to late 20th century.
There was much laughter and good times had in that store. We just played.
What did we play with? Well let’s see: blocks in the basket.
We found some funky sunglasses. I love this picture of Bethany, don’t you?
A really cool bicycle and then we just looked at everything else. Bethany took a spin on it love it. I would have taken this bicycle home it could’ve fit in my suitcase… Sigh!
There was all the other cool things in the store like jewelry.
Cool windows and other displays.
And some really fun old evening bags. I fell in love with one and just had to bring it home. Can you guess which one I bought?
If you thought it was the black one, you would have been right. Bethany agreed that it was a great choice and memento for our day. 🙂
After visiting the antique shop, we wondered done the street.
Our things we did was a visit to a wine shop that Bethany had scoped out. She thought it would be a great place to create the video we had discussed on wine tasting. ME on video?… I was nervous, it was my very frist podcast/video. You know how much I like pictures of me … Not! LOL! The wine shop was charming.
They had a very nice selection of wine.
We decided it would be fun to do a wine tasting and then a video to follow.
I love this picture of Bethany.
Yep, that’s me with a wine glass.
While exploring the wine shop, Bethany gave me an idea for a blog giveaway. It will be one of my first. I found these beautiful wine socks that fit the fall theme. So stay tuned for more on my very first “Give Away”.
It was an amazing few days and something I hope to repeat in the future. Bethany is a very special person who will be running a marathon in October. I won’t be there, but I will be cheering her on in spirit and will look forward to our next meet-up. Who knows, it may be in California. One never knows about these things. In the meantime, check out the wine tasting we created.
Have you ever meet some of your online blogger friends? I would highly recommend it and love to hear about it.
Life’s journey continues…
