• That is a lovely success story. Not sure I care for the label, but it’s what’s inside that counts. 🙂

    • It really is. I would also love to go visit this estate. They are suppose to have fabulous spa there as well. I agree with you. But it’s very recognizable making it work the way it’s supposed to. 🙂

  • Thanks for the post. Lovely.

  • Any time is a great time to try a new wine! I just saw the Barefoot brand, Zinfindel, has 92 point rating and out here the big bottle is selling for just $11!

    • Hi Patricia, I so agree with you… LOL. I did to. the price is right that you can’t beat the rating. Do you think I should post what this kind of rating means? 🙂

  • Julie

I’ve had this wine and I love it. It’s, as you said, really good with pasta. I will be getting this again.

    • Hi Julie, It is a really lovely wine. It goes with a good many things… LOL. I am so glad you liked it. 🙂

  • Elizabeth Scott

This is one I will have to check out. Sounds wonderful.

    • Hi Elizabeth, I hope you do. When you do let me know what you think. 🙂

  • I have tried this one at least once in the past and I quite liked it. It’s funny how I recognize labels more readily than names, but I suppose a lot of wine dabblers are that way. Maybe some day I will find a better way of keeping track of all the varieties I’ve tasted.

    • Hi Jeri, It is one I have enjoyed a few times. Your right about wine labels. that’s why wine makers spend a great deal of money coming up with one that will catch the eye.

Part of the reason I blog about wine is to create a catalog of wines we enjoy… LOL 🙂

Susan: I haven’t tried the Banfi Sangiovese, but I have tried many others. Sangiovese is comparable to Malbec in price and quality. Different in flavour, but both delicious food wines that won’t break the bank.

    • Hi Doreen, It’s what I like the best about this brand. They provide great quality at very affordable prices. 🙂

  • Susan – this review is just in time for my dinner party this Saturday evening. It may be recommended for light meals but I never met anyone who didn’t like a Cab.

    • Hi Jeannette, I’m with you on the cCab. It is definitely one of my favorite varietals. Have fun with this and your dinner party. 🙂

  • Kelly Wade

Every time I read one of these posts it makes me want to go to a wine tasting that much more. I do really like wine but stick to cheaper varieties as I’m a pretty money-strapped 20-something these days. But I do look forward to getting more into when I’m older. Where this wine is made sound beautiful!

    • Hi Kelly, It please me that you enjoy what I’m able to share about wine. I love the stories about each of the different wineries. To me in bring it to life and makes it more then just wine in a bottle.

I get that. This is surprising inexpensive for what it is. So, before you rule it out, check it out. It may just be in your price range. 🙂
