When I was a child I loved hearing this poem. It really made me believe there was a Santa Claus. I used to read this poem to my class of six year olds with all the enthusiasm of a true believer just before the holidays. I loved how they would be so enthralled with the poem/story. Many times they would ask me to read it again just before the Holiday break. To be fair it’s still one of my favorite holiday poems. I remember the first time I heard it fondly.
