Well, I didn’t have time for a food recipe post, my office and kitchen are shambles, and I was in need of a stiff drink. So I thought I’d showcase my Bloody Mary recipe I had instead my usual wine find.
So not to disappoint and not post anything today, here is the Bloody Mary recipe my friend and I have when we want something other than wine. My friend, Elizabeth and I make this when we get together and play in the kitchen. Having our special Bloody Mary when we cook has become one of our traditions. It’s a very cool treat and sets us up for fun in the kitchen.
Elizabeth and I created this Bloody Mary recipe when we didn’t have the ingredients we needed to make the recipe we had, so we improvised. To our amazement, we actually liked it better. Here is our version of a Bloody Mary.
My Girl Night Bloody Mary Recipe
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka
- 3 extra large pimento-stuffed green olives
- 1 tablespoon of the brine juice from the olive jar
- 1/2 teaspoon good sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of lime juice
- 3 dashes Tabasco sauce
- 1 cup tomato juice
- Optional: Garnish with a few olives on a long toothpick to use as a stirrer if desired.
Directions:
Place the four ice cubes in a large tumbler or shaker. Pour in the vodka, then drop in the olives and the olive brine. Season with sea salt, pepper, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce. Add the remaining ingredients to the tumbler or shaker and shake or stir. Salt the rim of a highball glass, if desired. To salt the rim, dip the glass rim in a shallow dish of water and then dip the rim into coarse salt. Pour the Bloody Mary mixture into the prepared highball glass and enjoy.
Notes: The better the ingredients and vodka you use the better your Bloody Mary will turn out… just saying. 🙂
My friend and fellow foodie love our Bloody Mary recipe, and we think you will too. I hope you will give it a try and let me know what you think.
Time to eat and a glass…
