• Wow… I might have to try this. I’m the only one who drinks milk so I have the same problem with it going bad before I finish it.

    • It has made all the difference and it does taste better with the extra sugar and vanilla. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am so glad you posted your home made granola recipe! I saw that in the title and wanted to see that over the milk recipe. ๐Ÿ™‚ We drank powdered milk growing up… so I am sure this is better than what we had!

    • How cool!!! I love my own granola over the store bought. It is super easy and I can control what it is that goes into it. Enjoy and let me know what you think when you make it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Susan, I should pass this recipe on to the Milk Advisory Board. It’s good for the Dairy Industry, which is always happy to find new ways to promote our products and that means it’s good for dairy owners like me. Thanks!

    • Thanks Margaret, That is such an awesome thing to do. I didn’t know your were an dairy owner. That is totally cool. :-)))

  • I’ve been eating vegan since August – it’s part of my self-health management to get my high cholesterol down. I refuse to take medications for things I get diagnosed with that I feel stand a fair chance of change with natural methods. Because of that, milk, cheese, eggs, meats, fish, none of these things are in my diet.

But even before this, like for about 5 years now, I’ve been drinking almond mild and rice milk. LOVE them. Particularly on my new fave vegan breakfast of raw oatmeal, cranberries, banana, ground flax seed, a bit of walnuts and sometimes kiwi or orange. And hmmm, when you warm the almond milk before pouring it over, there is nothing quite like it.

    Thanks Susan!

    • Hi Patricia, I so understand and hope that you are able to achieve your goal… I am rooting for you.

Your breakfast sounds awesome. Do you have a recipe or the measurements? I would LOVE to showcase it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I really needed this suggestion/recipe. I am always wasting milk for the same reson. I have pinned this and will be using it. Thank you for the great idea.

    • This makes me very happy. I’m so glad it’s something you can use. :-)))

  • I have to say I hate the taste of milk which probably goes back to having to drink it at school after it had been sitting in the sun. I might try your recipe as I guess you can water it down so it tastes more like skim milk.

    • I am not a big milk drinker either, but it is necessary when I eat my granola… LOL. When I do drink it, I always drink skim milk and in this case it is lighter then regular skim milk that you get form the store but it still has all the benefit. When you are so inclined, give it try. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Thanks so much! I’m always wasting milk too because we just can’t drink it fast enough. This recipe sounds really good (and easy).

    • Hi Laura, It really is and it couldn’t be easier. Enjoy, :-)))

Susan — I discovered that if you buy organic milk it stays fresh for up to a month. I, too, had milk go bad before I finished it. Now I buy the half-gallon size and never have a problem.

    • Thais good to know about organic milk. In the meantime, this will be my milk of choice. It is just to easy to make on demand and so cheap not make. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • I too got sick of milk going bad and that’s when I discovered ultra-pasturized organic milk. The half carton in my fridge has a date of December 7. It costs more, but then again, I’m not throwing it either.

        • I have never thought about organic milk. I will give it a try sometime in the future. For now, I’m enjoying making my milk on demand with this recipe. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Now this is great I have used powder milk in the past and will give this a try and see if it tastes better………….

    • Hi Jo-Anne, That’s awesome. Let me know what you think when you do. You might want to use almond extract instead of vanilla. Just a thought. :)))

I’ve actually had powdered milk and love the taste! It’s definitely a long stronger than general cow’s milk, but adding a little more water takes away the “Wow, this milk is on steroids!” taste. But I think I like your recipe a little more. LOL

    • Hi Angela, I know exactly what you mean. Give this a try. I would love to hear what you think. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will have to try this with my son sometime. He’s a big milk lover!

It never would have occurred to me to add vanilla and sugar to powered milk. You come up with the best stuff!

    • Thanks Adrienne, This really does work too and it saves a ton of money. ๐Ÿ™‚
