• Sounds like you had a lot of fun!

  • Debra Yearwood

It’s been ages since I was at a ball game. When I lived in Montreal it was a spring time ritual for high schools (and offices) to empty out on the first day the Expos played. It looks like you had an absolute riot. 🙂

    • Hi Debra, Before we moved here, we rarely went to any sporting event unless we were given the tickets. Now I go more often because of this venue. It was a blast. 🙂

  • Dan Meyers

Looks like a great place to catch a ballgame… and I’m not sure it gets any better than a nice evening of baseball at a minor league stadium. My favorite part is that it allows families cheap(er) entertainment than expensive professional games!

    • Hi Dan, I could agree with you more on all points. It was really good to see so many families out enjoying the game. 🙂

  • Cheryl Therrien

Looks like you had a great time! Glad you took my advice and made this blog post from it. 🙂 Yeah, I know you were going to do it anyway.

  • Catarina Alexon

You must have had great fun, Susan!! The pictures really show how you enjoyed it!!

    • Thanks Catarina, Anytime I have the opportunity to enjoy an event with my friends is a good time. 🙂

  • Jim

I’ve been to minor league games in Idaho, Oklahoma, Kansas, Virginia, New York–they seem to be much more fun than a major league game. It’s also great to see a player in the early days of their career before they become a superstar.

    • Hi Jim, Minor league game have more of a human down to earth feel to them. Aside fromm the expense, I think that why they’re more fun. 🙂

  • Fabulous. I grew up in NY and had cousins who just loved baseball – all leagues. Living near Yankee Stadium often lead to quite a treat. Thanks for the terrific pics – including one of YOU!

    • Hi Patricia, I bet that was cool living near the Yankee Stadium. Thanks, I’m not very big on pictures of myself… LOL. 🙂

  • Jeri Walker-Bickett

My husband has a goal to see a Major League game in every city that has such a team.

  • What fun! Makes for a great family outting. I have attended ball games of the Los Angelas Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. It is getting very expensive to go to pro games now-a-days.

    • Hi CB, This venue really does. I’ve been to a Dodger’s game and it was way cool. It also helped that we ere given tickets to seat by the dugout with free food. I’m not sure we would gone otherwise. 🙂

  • (sigh) I guess that’s how its like going to the ball game in smaller towns. In NYC, its practically hassle with so many people and $9 hot dogs. I’d rather stay home. But at least you guys had fun and that’s the most important part.

    • I get that. I have seen it both ways. Growing up in DC, we rarely if ever had a chance to see a baseball game. Here it is family event and great summer tradition.

  • It looks like a bloody great time I am not a sport person and have never attended a sporting event ever………..well not that I can remember………

    • Hi Jo-Anne, It was fun, Don’t tell many one but I’m not either… LOL. I just enjoyed watching the people and spending time with my friends. 🙂

  • Jon Jefferson

Never really been a fan of baseball, but I love going to live games. At least once a year we are able to get cheap or free tickets from the hospital my wife works at for our local minor league team. It is a great afternoon.

    • Shish, don’t tell any one but never am I. I just love the atmosphere and watching all the people and their families. That is where fun is for me. 🙂

  • Lorraine Marie Reguly

When I was a child, my dad took us to see Eddie Fayner pitch. I ate a hot dog while there, and got food poisoning for the first time in my life! I don’t particularly like baseball, but I used to play “catch” with my dad in our backyard, and sometimes on the street. This was one of the few things we used to do together. It was definitely quality time enjoyed!

    • Hi Lorraine, What a bummer. I am so happy I was able to bring that memory for you. 🙂

  • Your pictures helps us feel the atmosphere of attending a baseball game Susan. Looks like you had a great time.

    • It was great fun Susan. I so so love watching the families and all the kids having a great time. 🙂

  • Darrell

You can’t beat AA ball for affordable fun. Way better than the pros!

  • Rocky

Susan, when I read your posts, I find myself enjoying your experience. It’s fun, relaxing and makes me glad I stopped by. Thanks!

    • Hi Rocky and welcome. It please me so that you enjoyed your visit and my pictures. 🙂

  • Susan — minor league baseball is so much more fun than going to a major league game. It’s family friendly, the parks are small so you can actually see the players and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper. We have two new ballparks in NY and it’s become prohibitively expensive to go to a game.

    • I agree Jeannette, This venue makes it so much more affordable for families and just to goo for fun where pro-ball not so much. 🙂

  • Susan- That looked like a lot of fun. I truly miss California. People are so much more laid back , friendly and know how to how fun. Love your pics

    • Hi Arleen, It really was. It is such a great summertime tradition here. Why don’t you move back? 😀

  • Jody Kristina

So awesome! I live around that area, Raley Field rocks! I enjoyed your pictures. Roger and I have been thinking of going to a baseball game and enjoying some hot dogs since we live so close. We need to plan it out and make time for it. Thanks for reminding me to. 🙂

  • My husband and sons went to a Yankee game last night – I think my daughter was just jealous of the snacks, not of the game itself. You sound like you had a great time.

My orthodontist participates in some program for aiding families that otherwise could not afford braces – cannot remember the name, but I remember noticing the program on our last trip.

    • Hi Leora, We did have a great time. I’m with your daughter, sometimes the food is the best part of the experience… LOL.

I love it when a professional does stuff like that for kids. It make me a bigger fan as a result. 🙂

  • HomeJobsbyMOM

Looks like you had a awesome time! We went to a Reds game last month and it was so much fun too 🙂

    • Hi Krystle, We really did. I’ll bet the reds Game was a blast. Did you go with the whole Family?:-)

  • Adrienne Jones

My husband started getting free MLB tickets at work a couple of years ago. I’m not much of a baseball fan, but it is fun to go to a game, especially if your team wins!

    • Hi Adrienne, I love the fun of it, the food and all the people watching. Sounds like you do too. 🙂
