We been traveling as well has a good number of visitors of late. I thought would be a good idea to stock up on some wine. Reserve De L Aube Syrah Merlot was a recommendation from the wine buyer at my local Cost Plus/World Market. It is a very pleasant wine for a VERY reasonable price. You’ve got to love that label; it shouts French all over it.
Reserve De L Aube Syrah Merlot
La Reserve De Laude Vineyards, the producer of this label, is located the Languedoc wine region. The winery, established in 1929, remains a small family owned business with the originating family, still producing wine today.
An interesting fact about the area where this wine comes is it covers most of the south of France, with well over 32,000 vineyards. Now that is a lot of vineyards. What’s even cooler is this wine region has been producing wine since the 4th century. From the 18th and 19th centuries, the Languedoc wine region had a reputation for producing high-quality wines. Today, this wine region remains a place where you will find some of France’s best wine as well as the lower priced wines, especially from the smaller vineyards. This area sounds like a place well worth a visit. 🙂
Last but not least, this wine region is where you will find some of France’s best lower priced wines, in particular among the smaller vineyards. This area sounds like a place well worth a visit. 🙂
This is what is said about this Reserve De L Aube Syrah Merlot:
“There is an onslaught of deep black fruit with crushed black apricot skins; interesting, complex, meaty crushed ripe black plums with Morrello cherry juice; and spicy underlying notes of cassis, hints of toffee and minerals.”
I could only find Reserve De L Aube Syrah Merlot at Cost Plus/World Market. They don’t always have it available, but when they do why not get a few bottles before they run out again. Think about it, why not impress your friends with a fun bottle of this French table wine, especially at such an inexpensive price. This wine would also work well when you need a hostess gift.
If you try this Reserve De L Aube Syrah Merlot, I would love to know where you found it. Of course, let me know what you think.
Time for a glass…
