Domaine ste Michelle Brut: #Sparkling #Wine

by Susan P. Cooper · on Dec 28, 2014 · 10

I had posted this article about Domaine ste Michelle Brut many years ago. In light of the season and the many celebrations, I thought it would be a fun sparkling wine to resurrect.

Domaine ste Michelle Brut, findingourwaynow.comI did a taste test of various inexpensive sparkling wines; one happened to be this Domaine ste Michelle Brut. All I can say is Yum. For the price, this sparkling wine from Chateau Ste Michelle is a very wine for any special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or holiday or whatever strikes your fancy.

To share a bit about the winery, Chateau Ste Michelle Winery and tasting room is located in the Columbia Valley wine region of Washington State. The origins of the winery date back to the repeal of Prohibition.

The original manor house was built in 1912 on an estate owned by Seattle lumber baron, Frederick Stimson. The first grape vines were planted in 1972. Today’s iconic French style Chateau for the winery was subsequently built in 1972 at the same time changing the winery’s name to Chateau Ste. Michelle. (Note: They have since changed the label of their Domaine ste Michelle Brut to reflect a more unique style of this sparkling wine.)

This is what the winemaker has to say about this Domaine ste Michelle Brut:

“Sparkling wine is a wonderful yet often overlooked accompaniment to food. Bright acidity and effervescence cleanses the palate, while the delicate flavors complement a wide array of dishes. Brut pairs very well with Japanese cuisine, my favorite is with sashimi. Sip with bagels and lox for a relaxing weekend brunch. Style – Not too dry or sweet

    • Aromas – Apple and citrus
    • Flavors – Citrus with a light toasty finish
    • Pair with – Spicy fries, artichoke or cheese dips, calamari and salty snacks

You can find Domaine ste Michelle Brut Sparking Wine on amazon.com, wine.com, totalwine.com, bevmo.com, World Market/Cost Plus or any local wine purveyor.

This sparkling wine added so much to our evening with friends, food and all that goes with that. I know it would do the same for your special occasions or celebrations as well.

Time for a glass…
