With the holidays fast approaching, and the need for an abundance of libations, one starts to consider what to buy and how much to pay for wines that our guests would enjoy. With that in mind, I decided to try Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio, an inexpensive light white table wine from Trader Moon Wine Company.
The name kind of gives it away. This wine is obviously a Trader Joe’s wine. So why did I give this wine a try? It was based primarily on the price and the cool label. I know; it’s not the best way to pick a wine, but you just never know.
Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio
Trader Joe’s is known for its well-priced wine from many different quality vintners along with their popular private labels. One of the many questions asked of Trader Joe’s is how is it they can provide excellent wines for ridiculously low prices? It turns out it’s because they deal directly with the vintners whenever possible. The other factor is they really care about the integrity of the end product they provide their customers.
They also provide their own private label wines, which plays heavily in their favor when a prominent winemaker needs to sell their overabundance of processed grapes protecting the vintner’s anonymity. So this guarantees Trader Joe’s wine labels will provide exceptional quality for an exceedingly good price. Each of the wine labels that Trader Joe’s offers present us with a good range of opportunities for good table wines, such as this Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio. They also provide a nice range of private label high-quality reserve or grand reserve vintages.
This is what Trader Joe’s has to say about their inexpensive Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio:
“The Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio is a medium-bodied, well-balanced wine. Enticing aromas of fresh citrus, fruit and flowers with flavors of juicy grapefruit and spices. Pairs well with a wide variety of foods including salads, seafood, shrimp, chicken, turkey and pasta in a light creme sauce.”
You can obviously find this wine at any Trader Joe’s. In fact, it’s the only place you can find this Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio. I found it to be a good choice with my favorite pasta. It also works nicely with medium flavored cheeses as well.
If your budget is a bit slim, there is no need to sacrifice on enjoying a nice table wine. So find your local Trader Joe’s and do a bit of taste testing of your own. If you should pick up a bottle of this Venetian Moon Pinot Grigio, let me know what you think.
Time for an inexpensive glass of wine…
