Liberty School Chardonnay was a very nice find. I had just purchased this wine from my local Cost Plus/World Market. This wine was at the recommendation of my friend and beverage specialist. I had brought a couple of bottles to take to a dinner party we had been invited to as a hostess gift. It delivered on all that was promised. This reasonably priced wine was a very big hit.
Liberty School Chardonnay
Liberty School Chardonnay is produced by the Hope Family Wines. The Hope family has been farming in Paso Robles, California for more than 30 years. The Hope Family Winery consists of five individual brands: Liberty School, Treana, Candor, Austin Hope and Troublemaker. The Hope family has successfully cultivated mature vineyards of grape varieties that are well-suited to this area. The natural environment of this area offers some unique wine characteristics that truly please the palate. The varietals they produce include Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Mourvedre and Grenache.
The Paso Robles wine region is a beautiful area with gently rolling hills, studded with some magnificent California Oaks. This wine region has become a significant wine-growing region offering many quality wines within the Central Coast. Just west of this wine region, not far from Paso Robles, are the towns of San Simeon and Moro Bay. San Simeon, home to the Hearst Castle, is located on Highway 1, part of a beautiful coastline drive. Morro Bay is a quaint fishing village, well worth a day trip. Along with some great wines and wineries, both of these towns are within a short drive from this wine region offering additional fun places to explore.
This is what the winemakers have to say about their Liberty School Chardonnay:
“Regardless of the varieties planted, the expression of Paso Robles is displayed in the glass with spice, licorice and berry in the nose, soft textures and silky tannins on the palate.
Fruit-driven in style, this Chardonnay offers up-front aromas of green apple and citrus blossom typical of the variety. Bright flavors of citrus, pineapple, bosc pear, honey and a subtle hint of toasted oak are balanced by a clean, crisp finish.”
You can find this very reasonably priced wine on their website or on wine.com, amazon.com, totalwine.com, bevmo.com, Cost Plus/World Market, sometimes at Target and any good wine purveyor.
When you purchase this Chardonnay, let me know what you think. Enjoy.
