Holiday Lights: Story/Musing

by Susan P. Cooper · on Dec 21, 2012 · 30

I love all the holiday lights. This has been a joyous Holiday for me this year for many reasons. I have rekindle my love for the holidays. I have so enjoyed decorating the house inside and the outside with lights. This is the second year in over six years that I have taken the time to do so.

So, here are my thoughts.

Holiday Lights

The welcoming of a decorated door is always a cheerful thing for my visitors.

The blow-up decorations are really fun and super easy to install.

My theme is snowmen, peppermints and candy canes

Some of my neighbors have joined in which is always fun.

And when the house is finished, it’s always a joy to go for a walk to see how it looks at nights.

The holidays aren’t always about what we get but what we can give.  The greatest joy for me is to give to others whenever, wherever & however I can.

Take the time to enjoy the simple things.
A cup of hot cocoa and cookies by the fire is one of my favorite things to do.
Why is it we only give ourselves permission to do these things at this time of year?

Happy Holidays!

Do you enjoy the holiday lights?  What are your favorite things to do at the beginning of the holiday season?

Life’s journey continues…
