The memories of camp fires, roasted marshmallows and S’mores are generally on our minds when summer arrives. The big problem with these ooey gooey delights are the calories, and many of us always seem to be on a diet these days. So what is a girl/guy to do? Find an alternative of course. So here is my alternative to fully loaded S’mores I call Skinny S’mores. I think you will like this super simple recipe, and they are really good and lower in calories to boot.
Skinny S’mores
Ingredients:
- Chocolate wafers
- Marshmallows
- Smooth peanut butter
- Nutella
Directions:
Roast marshmallows over a fire or in the oven. Smear peanut butter or Nutella one side of one chocolate wafer with or leave it plain. Put a freshly roasted marshmallow between the two chocolate wafers like a sandwich.
Notes: The favorite version of these Skinny S’mores is with Nutella. Some will smear peanut butter on one wafer and Nutella on the other. I actually prefer it plain. The point is there is no wrong way.
Now how good is that, s’mores at a third of the cost in calories. These were a big hit on our girl night. As you can imagine, they didn’t last long. The calories in this Skinny S’mores recipe are substantial reduced, and you still get to have your S’mores. So when the campfires, outdoor fireplaces or fire pits are lit, and you’re craving S’mores; give these a try. Enjoy.
Time to eat…
