• Zinfandel is my favorite grape. And for sure Old Vines are THE best of that grape. What was the “reasonably priced”?

    • For Zin lovers, this is a good Old Vine Zin and it’s very reasonably priced for a boutique wine at around $12 to 14 a bottle.

  • If I were a drinking person, this would be of interest to me for the simple fact that they donate to charity for every bottle sold. I like to do something good while doing something good for myself. 🙂

    • I agree with you. It makes the whole experience regardless of whether it’s wine or chocolate… 🙂 … that much more a win, win, win.

I love that they are supporting ALS research!

    • Me too, and it’s a great wine as well. 🙂

I am not an expert on grape wine but i love grape juice and I am sure that grape wine will be fantastic

    • Hi Paul, this is a particularly good one for a Old Vine Zinfandel grape varietal wine. 🙂

  • Good review.I reall neded to get back to wines again. I have been on a Hard cider kick lateley.

    • Thanks Patrick, If you try this one let me know. BTW: there is nothing wrong with Hard Cider either… LOL

  • Great review! I love learning more about wines. I also enjoy hearing about products that give a nod to a cause. I think that’s an important aspect of giving.

    • Thanks Tamara. I find the stories about the different winery interesting. Like you, I especially like about the giving to ALS. 🙂

This sounds like a great wine, one I would really enjoy. I wish lived closer so I could go to the winery for a tasting. Oh well. 🙂

    • Boy you’re busy commneting. Thank you for that. I always enjoy a good old vine zin. the fact that they give to ALS makes buying a bottle that much nicer. 🙂

  • I’ve never ordered wine online before (expect for gift baskets I’ve sent to others). However, based on this review I’m re-thinking doing so. My ventures usually center on the aisles of Harris Teeter, World Market, Trader Joe’s, and now Whole Foods (yes, Charlotte finally got a store!). I have yet to shop in-person at wine stores. Perhaps I don’t need to develop more patience for shopping since you are suggesting so many great wines!

    • I will occasional buy wine on line when I can’t find what I’m looking for. Going to a wine shop for a grocery store and talk to the wine buyer is fun. It’s amazing what they will tell you and what you learn from them. I often ask what they hear about a particular wine and many times come away with something totally different. Try it, I think you would have some fun with it.

I had relatives in Lodi so know of Twisted Roots winery. Though I only ever tried the Petite Sirah, this sounds equally appealing.

  • Another great score card! Thanks Susan.

  • I love the winery name and the vintner’s description of Old Vine Zinfandel. Lodi sounds like an area to explore on my next trip to California.
