Who doesn’t love all kinds of chocolate pie; cream, fudge or any which way they come. I simply can’t resist them.
As an added benefit to my Chocolate Pudding Recipe, I thought it would be fun to share my three different pies but in a jar. I know it seems I’m on a “in a jar kick” but they are just too cute and too darn fun not to share them with you. They really are so simple and fun to make.
Chocolate Pie In A Jar Three Ways
When I made these the first time I fell in love with my version of Rocky Road Pie. As I tried the others I found each of them to be just as good. I was hard pressed to say which one I like the best. I’ll let you decide for yourself.
#1 – Rocky Road Pie
Ingredients: Makes approximately 6 servings
- 1 recipe of Homemade Chocolate Pudding
- ½ cup mini marshmallows
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
- ½ cup toasted walnut pieces
- chocolate wafers crushed
- 6 to 7 8 oz. wide-mouth jars
- Garnish: whipped cream or Cool Whip, mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips and walnuts
Directions:
Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of the crushed chocolate wafers in the bottom of the 8 oz. wide-mouth jars, enough to cover the bottom. In a medium bowl, fold in the mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips and walnuts into the chocolate pudding, reserving some for a garnish.
Carefully spoon or pipe the pudding mixture in the jar on top of the crushed chocolate wafers filling the jar to about 1 inch from the top. Pipe on the whipped cream or Cool Whip and garnish with mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips and walnuts. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Beverage Pairing Suggestions: Coffee and tea are always a good choice with simple desserts like these. How about a fun Chocolate Wine such as my favorite, Red Decadence, to add to the fun.
Chocolate Pies Notes: A trick I learned from a chef friend of mine was Cool Whip will maintain its integrity for many days. It gives you a greater chance of keeping them in the refrigerator for a few days and have them look great and taste as good. I’ve made these pies leaving off the toppings, placing on a lid to store them in the refrigerator. When you do that they’re easier to transport or give away.
These three recipes are just a few of my “Chocolate Pie In A Jar” ideas. As before, there were so many versions that I lost count. So get out that apron on and give these a try.
