Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc: #Wine

by Susan P. Cooper · on Oct 12, 2014 · 12

This delightful Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc was the perfect choice for the making of my white wine lemon sangria. It was also an excellent wine to enjoy while making it as well.

Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc

Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc, findingourwaynow.comJoel Gott, of Joel Gott Wines, was established in 1996. Joel’s interest in wine has very deep roots. His grandfather was a winemaker and the president of Inglenook Winery in the 1960s and 70s. His father continued the legacy by founding the Amador wine region’s Montevina Winery, and still consults for many wineries today.

Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc, Three Thieves Wine, findingourwaynow.comJoel’s background, winemaking gift and relationship building abilities ultimately led to a collaboration with Roger Scommegna and Charles Bieler in the creation of the “Three Thieves” wine brand. A subsequent partnership with Trinchero Family Estates helped these three to establish a better opportunity for market penetration of this brand. Ultimately this relationship led Joe and wife Sarah to Trinchero Family Estates once again for their Joel Gott wines. This move in turn allowed them the exposure they needed and the much needed time to focus on their winemaking.

Joel’s success with wine making is the direct result of his building grower relationships that has allowed him the opportunity to source high-quality grapes. These relationships have given him access to many of the best grapes as well as many undiscovered grape varietals. All this has resulted in just what you would expect, the production of delicious, well-balanced wines at great prices.

This is what the winemaker has to say about Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc:

Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc, findingourwaynow.com“The 2013 Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc has bright citrus aromas complemented by tropical notes. Refreshing flavors of melon lead to juicy Meyer lemon zest flavors on the mid-palate, and a long, clean, and balanced finish. To preserve the wine’s fruit and acidity, it is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, a small percentage of which are smaller stainless steel drums that give the wine added texture and roundness from sur lie aging.

The 2013 vintage was one of the best we have had in California. A dry spring with moderate temperatures laid the foundation for a great growing season—budbreak to bloom. Warm summer temperatures led to an early veraison (the onset of ripening), and we watched the vineyards closely to ensure they were picked at optimal ripeness, with a good balance of sugar and acidity. Fruit from both Napa Valley and the marine-influenced Monterey offers tropical aromatics while fruit from Lake County brings citrus qualities to the wine. Sourcing from these varied regions across California helps us to create a refreshing, food-friendly blend.”

You can find this delightful Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc 2013 at wine.com, BevMo.com, totalwine.com, amazon.com or any good wine purveyors.

Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc 2013 was recommended by my favorite wine buyer, for both my sangria and for my drinking enjoyment. It is a delight and one I would highly recommend you give a try.

Time for a glass…
