• I can’t really digest dairy well, but it does look lovely. I would enjoy it even without the sour cream topping.

    • Hi Leora, It really is very good. You might try some of the dairy free sour creams. I see them occasionally. 🙂

  • Jon Jefferson

My wife makes something similar that she calls yummy dessert. Although it uses whipped cream instead of sour cream.

    • Hi Jon, We’ve had it that way but we really like the tang of the sour cream in this recipe. The fact that it will keep a bit longer is a plus as well. 🙂

  • Yum! I collect antique cookbook pamphlets and recall reading this recipe. I wonder who created it? I love the photos on this blog…makes me want to put your recipe together now!

    • Hi Wendy, I have no idea. It’s been around a long time and has many versions. This is the one I have made for ever. I’m so glad you like my photographs. I do have fun taking them for the blog post. 🙂

  • This one brings back memories. My sisters and I always used to fight over who got to make the fruit salad 🙂

    • I can just see that Jeri… LOL. This salad also brings back some fun memories too. 🙂

  • We used to make this salad, but we used whipped cream in place of the sour cream. Yum….

    • Hi Cheryl, It’s been a super long time sense. We use whipped cream. I prefer sour cream because it just ads a little zing. 🙂

  • Margaret Duarte

  • What a wonderful way of making a fruit salad. Will make one tonight without pineapple.

    • Hi Catarina, It is one our families very favorite. I’ve never had it without pineapple so tell how it was without it.
