Any idea starts somewhere. The idea could be a glimmer, a whisper of a feather, an “ah ha” moment, the turn of a phrase from someone, because of a new friend or it can just sneak up on us and present itself, seemingly, out of nowhere.
To tell this story, I need take you back a year or so. I had been blogging for a short while and had made a few friends along the way. I’m not sure who found whom first but there I was sharing comments with Cheryl Therrien. We soon found ourselves following each other and what we had to share. It was an instant friendship. The more we found out about each other the more we found we had in common. It was like a flower slowly unfolding to reveal its beauty.
Time passed, and we became steadfast blogger friends. Eventually we started emailing each other about our thoughts, ideas and other stuff friends talk about. It was fun to have a friend who understood the challenges one faces in the Blogosphere. Pretty soon we noticed we were commenting on other blogs we both liked. How fun it was to see her name pop up when I visited a blog I followed. Of course, I had to read what she had to say, and in turn, she did the same with mine.
So what does this have to do with an eBook? Well it all started with a comment. Cheryl had noticed a comment I had left on another blog. She immediately emailed me and asked more about it. What was that comment? The blogger had mentioned a dream she had and what she thought it meant. I left a comment telling her what the symbols meant in her dream and how they are metaphorical in nature and not literal in their meaning. That intrigued Cheryl. It turned out that Cheryl was contemplating writing an eBook on the simple basics, if you will, on how to interpret your dreams. It was serendipitous. The conversation progressed. One thing led to another, resulting in an eBook collaboration.
We are now in the process of completing that eBook with an anticipated publishing date before Thanksgiving.
We are super excited about this eBook collaboration and can’t wait to share it with you when it’s published. Our book is similar in format to ‘The One Minute Manager’. It will allow you to locate the main subject of your dream in the table of contents. That way you can go directly to that subject without having to search the whole book to find the information you’re looking for.
So what does Cheryl have to say about all this? Let me quote her instead.
“I am super excited about this collaboration with Susan. Our book should be ready in the next few weeks, before Thanksgiving. That way it will make a great gift for the holidays!
We are counting on you, our readers, to help us with this first venture by spreading the word, buying the book if you are so inclined, leave us good reviews on Amazon, and anything else you can think of to support us. A blog post or two talking about our eBook are always welcome and would be greatly appreciated.”
So what has all this taught me? That lesson is we just never know where something will take us. The smallest glimmer can bring about great friendships and opportunities.
So, keep an eye out for our announcement. We so look forward to your support in our new venture.
Life’s journey continues…
